REVIVED TRADITION

In the Bay Street in Savannah, near to the Savannah River, we found a industrial architecture typical for the region which attracted us. It was built in 1860 and in the beginning it was a cotton warehouse and later a Coca-Cola bottling company. With the rising popularity of the historic city on the east coast in succession several hotel brands tried to offer the house as a accommodation for the numerous of tourists. Meanwhile the BRICE HOTEL revitalized the building and somehow they make everything as always and also completely different.

Without changing complexly the floor plan the hotel appears in a special design – clean lines paired with numerous playful elements, such as images of horses or colorful butterfly swarms adorning the hallways. The dark wood paneling on the walls and ceiling of the previous hotels were obtained but shine in white paints. The beautiful cobbled courtyard is a little magical in the middle of downtown. The bedrooms, all bright and generously offering maximum comfort. The lobby designed in the style of a large and airy living room offers a wonderful place to stay. The interplay of art works and bookshelves arranged by colors – an allusion to the literary roots of Savannah, make this place seem welcoming and homely.

We love how they gave this house, full of tradition, a new, modern character with so much respect for the history and with great sensitivity.

Also the on-site Italian restaurant PACCI is integrated perfectly in this concept. With particular emphasis on regional ingredients they serve a la “farm to table”. The selected menue makes desire to stay for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Every Wednesday the restaurant invites to a “Community Table”. A tradition that has been launched in order to link both – guests at the hotel on a lighthearted way, as well as the citizens of Savannah. A place to share delicious food, good wine and stimulating conversations. On one long table a great 3 course dinner is served on large plates – created to share it with each other. A fantastic idea as we see, to revive the heart of the new hospitality and at the same time to revitalized the community of the city.
