PRESS STREET GARDEN
A MULTI-FUNCTION, URBAN FARM IN THE MIDDLE OF NEW ORLEANS
In the upcoming neighboorhood Bywater in New Orleans the NOCCA (New Orleans Center for Creative Art) iniciated an urban farm and openair learning laboratory. The Press Street Garden is a nature-discovery world, classroom, event location and community garden at the same time.
The space looks like a lovely allotment and appears young and interesting in its presentation. The fresh vegetables, fruits, and herbs, which are used by NOCCA’s Culinary Arts students in their classroom training. Especially the faculty incorporate the gardens into their arts, science, humanities, and health education lessons.
Also they sell the produce locally with a trendy food truck.
The exciting urban green space will educate about topics ranging from proper gardening techniques, nutrition, and personal well-being to wetlands restoration and environmental stewardship. We especially like how this project is multifaceted used and transported. From our perspective, it is particularly successful, how sustainable is the spacial and content experience.
