INSPIRED EXPERIENCE | GREEN HAT GIN

GREEN HAT GIN

WE LOVE GIN

and we found our new favorite place in Washington D.C. – the GREEN HAT Distillery. This place has inspired us in quite different ways.

For over 100 years there has been no distillery in Washington, D.C. Three years ago, Michael Lowe and his son-in-law John Uselton started something – that others only talk about. They have realized their idea and launched as New Columbia Distillers.

We have visited Michael at the 3rd birthday of GREEN HAT in the tiny fine distillery. When we asked him how it all started, he said: ‘My son-in-law wanted to do something new and I was bored to be retired. Also, I love to do cocktails’. Two men have made simply what they thrilled. And it is this passion that makes GREEN HAT GIN so special – you can feel it.

The men love to experiment and after our tasting we can promise you – they know what they’re doing and you should definitely try one of the chosen spirits. They serve year-round, fall/winter, and spring/summer blends and sometimes new specialties as well.

We love as most how they inviting everybody who is interested to visit the Distill. Next to a little tour you can learn one very personal way the story of GREEN HAT and enjoy an individual tasting. In accordance with the successful overall appearance they create an experience that will be remembered. A best-case example of a successful brand experience.

Like a family business with personality! Since opening 3 years ago, seven other 7 players jumping into the local distillery business with Vodka, Whiskey, Beer and gin. The family of GREEN HAT feels that a rising tide raises all ships. And as long as people are making more great local spirits, they welcome the additions.

CHEERS and congratulations to GREEN HAT and a big thank you to Michael.

If you want to learn more about GIN HAT – for example, who gave it the name – you will find the website here: www.greenhatgin.com

Why it became Gin? They almost make a vodka on the way to making a gin, but they consider vodka kind of boring. They thought it’s weird to work hard on something and then have no flavor for the finished product.
