#DRIVINGDIRTY

SAVE WATER AND DRIVE DIRTY

The new campaign from Volvo is surprising different. The Swedes wants you to save water and driving dirty. With this call Volvo Cars is trying to help California, which is facing a serious drought these days.

How do they do that? By inviting not only Volvo drivers but all car driver one month not to wash their cars, to save together up to 18 million liter water in CA.

We saw many cars of the DRIVING DIRTY FLEET (see pictures) in the streets of San Diego. Not only us but also many other pedestrians paid attention to the cars and staff of the campaign. Kind, funny promoter animated to act on a likable and direct way.

Anyone can join. No matter what kind of car he drives. Just by sharing a photo of his dirty car with the hashtag #drivingdirty via social media with the world. And everybody who could not be convinced, have been invited to use a voucher for a carwash with recycled water.

“The campaign was just the first step”, said the President Steve Hinkle Volvo San Diego, the brain behind this idea. A new product from Volvo “CONSCIOUSLY CLEAN” followed in order to continue t effectively save with a completely waterless cleaning mechanism. So from the one-month campaign something sustainable persist.

We are curious what else follows and like this campaign. Great, simple and clever – it captures the spirit of the time and does something good. We say: MORE OF THAT, DEAR BRAND MANAGERS!
